Egged is getting on tracks
Next stop – public transit leadership: Egged is the Israel's oldest and largest public transit company. It evolved alongside the State of Israel, gathering valuable experience that makes it the leader it is today.
Enlisting for a national mission
The Israel mass transit system is on the verge of a breakthrough, which includes giving priority to mass transit infrastructure development projects and integrating LRT and Metro trains in the metropolitan traffic networks. The Egged group is committed to playing a leading role in this activity, making the experience and expertise it has gained over the years available to all the planning, administrating and implementing entities, to ultimately provide Israeli passengers with a reliable, accessible and safe service.
Penetrating the light rail sector is a natural and almost obvious development, based on the group's accumulated experience in operating mass transit services, forging relationships with the regulator - the Ministry of Transport, and by cooperating with all the entities involved: the developers, such as NTA, municipalities and others.
International knowledge, Israeli strength
Egged's organizational strength, with all that it implies, is at the disposal of Tevel Metro, to help it fulfill this national mission in the best possible way.
The partnership with the two international Chinese giants gives Tevel access to knowledge, information and practices gathered from around the globe, which will be successfully implemented in the Tel Aviv Metropolitan Area.
Egged sees itself as a key player in the Israeli mass transit industry, in the LRT sector, the bus sector, and other sectors which will be developed in the future. All of these give the company an overall perspective, the benefits of which will manifest in the field, and will facilitate assimilation of LRT among mass transit users quickly and efficiently.
Getting on the fast track
As part of the Egged group activity expansion plans, the company is getting ready to participate in bids for establishing and managing fast lanes at the entrances to Tel Aviv and Rosh Haayin.
These lanes will be primarily intended for buses and shuttles but will operate in parallel with toll roads for private cars.
