Therefore, Egged in general, and the public transit division in particular, invests extensive resources in scouting, recruiting and training the best drivers in public transit.

As of 2019, Egged employs around 4,500 drivers around Israel, and is considered the best employer in the public transit industry.

A detailed plan and ongoing efforts of the group's human resources division and the PT division, has resulted in a detailed training and employment program, allowing group drivers to enjoy the following:

Qualified drivers!

The division is also focusing special efforts on training and providing ongoing refresher courses for the drivers. Every group driver goes through training and refresher courses every quarter, alongside an annual training course.

During these courses and training sessions, the drivers are updated about issues such as operating the buses, changes, and updates on routes and frequencies, information about new developments in customer relations, service orientation, and so on.
