The production plant

The Egged Group production plant was founded in 1958, intending to provide a range of services to the Group's fleet of buses. The factory gained knowledge and an international reputation in the repair and production of systems. The plant is ISO 9001, 18001, 14001 certified (Quality, Safety and Quality of the Environment) It is the only plant of its kind in Israel, and its activities include:

  • Manufacturing bus systems
  • Repairing systems
  • Repair and breaking-in gearboxes (Test Bench)
  • Repair and breaking-in engines (Test Bench)
  • Spare parts production
  • Tires vulcanization for buses and heavy vehicles
  • Cleaning diesel particulate filters (DPF)
  • Repairing seats, tachometers, screens and more
As part of the transformation of the maintenance division into a profit center, the plant's services were made available to Egged maintenance clients, and today it serves all of the division’s clients.
Today, the plant successfully serves the Group's fleet, including all clients of the division, including those using the services at the service centers and other customers who maintain direct contact with the plant.

Green tires in public transit

If you were wondering what vulcanization is, you’ve come to the right place!  Nearly half of the rubber used in the rubber industry, which is produced from tree resin, is used for producing tires for heavy vehicles. Until recent years, there was no solution at hand that could minimize natural rubber use and provide suitable solutions for tire vulcanization for heavy vehicles.
Egged's production plant uses an advanced technology designed to renew tires, while using recycled materials, thereby reducing natural rubber use, producing safe tires at competitive prices, and providing public transit drivers and passengers with a green environment and safer travel.
