According to the Transportation Ministry’s decision, as of March 8 2018, bus drivers in Jerusalem will no longer load Rav-Kav travel cards.  Passengers will have to ensure that their cards are loaded before they board a bus, in order to save the driver having to deal with cash while driving.
To smooth the transition to the new system, there will still be three purchases that passengers may make from the driver using cash on board the bus as of March 8: One day pass; Single trip; Anonymous Rav-Kav card.
